What’s new in SearchAssist v1.1

Learn about the new features and enhancements in SearchAssist v1.1 released on June 14, 2023.

This version of SearchAssist is packed with powerful features and enhancements to elevate your search experience. You can now index knowledge articles and documents from Google Drive, Azure, and Salesforce using the prebuilt connectors. You can now enable the Azure OpenAI integration to generate the answers. You can streamline the CI/CD flow using the index import and export functionality.

Key features and enhancements included in this release are summarized below.

Content Extraction

Google Drive, Azure, Salesforce Connector

The native integration with Google Drive, Azure, and Salesforce allows you to seamlessly extract knowledge articles and documents from these systems for your search index. These connectors also provide useful configurations to customize the extraction flow.

SharePoint Connector Site Selection

You can now choose the specific sites from your SharePoint account to be synced with the search engine. For example, you can choose to index content only for the ‘HR’ site of your SharePoint.

Extraction using Schema.org

SearchAssist now supports the extraction of web content by reading the schema.org structure. This support helps in improving the quality of extraction and also provides you an option to customize what needs to be extracted.

Recrawl Enhancement

With Configurable Recrawl Enhancement, you now have complete control over the recrawl process, allowing you to seamlessly update existing documents instead of creating new ones, ensuring enhanced data consistency and efficiency.

Prefix Search

Prefix Search helps users search for documents containing a specific word or phrase without knowing the exact spelling of the word or the full phrase.

Korean Support

You can now index content and allow users to search in the Korean language.

Azure OpenAI Integration for Answer Generation

The prebuilt integration with Azure OpenAI allows you to use the large language models from OpenAI for answer generation. Azure OpenAI provides faster responses, and better service availability and comes with additional enterprise controls as part of your Azure account management services.

Index Import & Export

Simplify the setup and configuration process across different environments and accounts with the ability to export and import index configurations.

User Experience

Workbench Revamp

The Workbench user interface is revamped to make it easy for you to set up and manage the Workbench stages.

Improved User Interface

The user interface has been upgraded to the latest version of Angular (from v10 to v15), providing enhanced performance and stability.

Additional Enhancements

This release also includes upgrades to some of the stack components to improve the security, stability, and performance of the product.
