Back to Search AI connectors listZoho CRM is a customer relationship management platform for managing sales, marketing, and customer support. Search AI can ingest key data from Zoho CRM — Leads, Accounts, Contacts, and Deals — enabling users to search and access this information quickly.
Search AI interacts with Zoho CRM via its APIs, which use OAuth 2.0 for authentication. Create an OAuth client in the Zoho API console to generate the required credentials.
The Zoho connector ingests Leads, Accounts, Contacts, and Deals from your Zoho account. Each record is ingested as a separate document in Search AI. The doc_source_type field indicates the type of ingested content. The content field for each type includes:
Content Type
Fields Ingested
Leads
Name, lead status, source, company, email, phone, lead owner, and other contact details
Contacts
Name, title, email, phone, account, owner, and contact information
Accounts
Website, number of employees, annual revenue, and other account details
Deals
Name, stage, contact details, associated account, and total deal amount
Additional metadata for each content type is stored in dedicated fields within the ingested document.
Zoho CRM access control is determined by two factors:
Profile — defines a user’s permissions at the module level (e.g., Leads, Deals, Contacts), specifying which actions (view, edit, delete) a user can perform and which modules they can access
Role — establishes a user’s position in the organizational hierarchy (e.g., Employee, Manager, CEO)
For each ingested record, the sys_racl field contains:
The creator’s email ID — the creator always has access to their own records
Role IDs for all superior roles — Zoho CRM follows a role hierarchy, so all users with roles above the creator’s role can access the record if their profile permits
Records can be public or private, with additional sharing configured at three levels.Public RecordsA public record is accessible to all users whose profile grants access to that module. For example, if a Lead record is shared publicly and the following profiles have access to the Leads module:
